Our History
ElectroDetection was established in 1983, primarily to locate and map underground services. The company was formed in conjunction with Plowman Craven mainly to carry out buried services surveys for the PSA (Property Services Agency) and the company was known as PCA Services Ltd.
Shortly after joining the company in March 1987, the PCA shareholding was purchased and ElectroDetection was established with Laurie Butler and Peter Lyons as directors.

In April 1996, Matt West became a director and Laurie Butler resigned his directorship in September 1996 although he remained as a consultant for a further year.
Ownership of the shares has now come full circle with Plowman Craven purchasing the shares 20 years to the day from when they were sold to ElectroDetection.
Most members of staff have attended the Thames Water CP2 confined space course and the company currently has four members of staff who hold valid CP2 certificates.
Most field staff have attended and passed the City and Guilds certification in signing, lighting and guarding.
